As part of our continued growth, we are now seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to support our Construction, Housing, and Retail divisions in delivering large-scale projects across the UK.
Role & Responsibilities
The Pre-Construction Manager will be responsible for producing high-quality, persuasive technical content for bids and tenders within the construction industry. * Bid Strategy: Contribute to bid strategies, ensuring proposals reflect the company's advantages and innovative solutions. Analyze project briefs, client specifications, and tender documents to produce accurate content. Collaborate closely with Estimating to review tender bills, prelims, project briefs, and engage with subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams.
* Technical Content Creation: Write detailed technical bid responses covering construction methodologies, bid programmes, buildability, logistical challenges, technical questions, risk registers, site visit reports, tender interviews, and alternative proposals like value engineering.
* Collaborative Bid Development: Work with departments such as Estimating, Commercial, Design, and Health & Safety to gather and integrate technical input, ensuring buildability and viability.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Value Engineering: Suggest alternative methodologies or materials to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or timelines.
* Relationship Management: Develop long-term client relationships through the bid process to create future opportunities.
* Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure bid documents meet client specifications, standards, and guidelines, reviewing for accuracy and clarity.
Candidate Profile
We seek a candidate who is:
* Ambitious & Driven: Committed to delivering excellent results with a proactive mindset.
* Experienced: Demonstrable experience in technical bid writing within the construction sector, with strong industry knowledge.
* Confident & Organised: Able to work independently or as part of a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
* Detail-Oriented & Client-Focused: Attentive to detail, with strong communication skills and focus on client satisfaction.
