On behalf of the Intellectual Property Office, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer for a 6 Month contract mostly remote with occasional travel to Newport.

2. Educating businesses and consumers about IP rights and responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer your main responsibilities will be:
1. Support all aspects of the software development lifecycle, applying DevOps principles and leading on developing, implementing, enhancing, and managing DevOps practices following agreed processes and best practices.
2. Applying industry best practices and patterns across infrastructure and application components e.g., availability, security, performance, and scalability.
3. Leading on the design, release, and implementation of automated, repeatable, efficient delivery pipelines and holding responsibility for the management, delivery, and improvements of the deployments onto Production.
4. Leading delivery, integration, administration, and configuration of DevOps tools, seeking continual improvement and ensuring effective transition onto operational support (where applicable).
5. Implementing and configuring DevOps specific monitoring, alerting, auditing, and notification strategies and being an advocate for security and performance standards in the organisation.
6. Identifying, tracking, and supporting managing of DevOps specific risks and issues in adherence to established reporting standards.
Essential:
1. Strong understanding of DevOps principles and experience of working in a DevOps or iterative development culture.
2. Excellent knowledge and proven experience implementing continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) tools, including pipeline design and administration.
3. Experience with automated testing and embedding this in CI/CD pipelines.
4. Demonstrable experience in service support including troubleshooting and incident resolution.
5. Experience in identification and tracking of risks and issues.
6. Experience leading Releases through environments.
7. Terraform authoring / upgrading / refactoring in Azure.
8. Azure DevOps Repos, Azure DevOps YAML Pipelines.
9. Deployed Apps/APIs via Azure DevOps YAML Pipelines (not just Cloud infrastructure).
10. Azure, Azure cloud native services.
11. Azure AppService.
12. Git.
13. Bash.
14. Python.
15. Powershell.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
