The Role
As the Head of Employee Engagement & Experience, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering the organisation’s employee experience strategy. You will take ownership of employee engagement programmes, lead on employee relations, and foster a positive workplace culture that prioritises equity, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I). Your leadership will be key to ensuring the organisation is recognised as an employer of choice within the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
* Lead and shape the employee engagement and experience strategy across multiple sites, driving engagement and retention.
* Act as the advocate for employees, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making processes.
* Oversee employee relations initiatives, ensuring strong relations between leadership and staff, particularly in unionised environments.
* Champion wellbeing initiatives that support the mental and physical health of employees.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to align engagement strategies with broader business objectives.
* Ensure efficient and employee-friendly HR service delivery processes, simplifying policies and improving the overall experience.
* Utilise metrics and feedback to continuously improve employee engagement initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Travel
This role requires regular travel across the UK to visit various sites and ensure engagement strategies are consistently implemented. The ability to travel nationally as and when required will be essential.
Job Criteria – Essential
* 5+ years’ experience in a senior HR role with a strong focus on employee engagement and experience strategy.
* CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent).
* Proven ability to lead employee engagement initiatives and improve workplace culture in a multi-site or federated organisation.
* Experience in employee relations, including working in unionised environments.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Job Criteria – Desirable
* Experience applying design thinking or human-centred design in HR processes.
* Healthcare or social care sector experience.
* Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to align engagement strategies with business goals.
* Experience with change management and embedding cultural transformation across multi-site organisations.
