The Bank Audiology Quality Assurance Mentor Lead will work across both Bedfordshire Hospitals Audiology services (Luton and Dunstable Hospital and Bedford Hospital), providing advice, guidance and knowledge management and project support to a new Quality and compliance Manager to help coordinate the requirements of the IQIPS scheme (Improving Quality in Physiological Services). This is an accreditation programme designed to support healthcare organisations ensure patients receive consistently high-quality care. It is managed and delivered by the United Kingdom Accreditation Scheme (UKAS). The post will provide a range of project and administrative support to ensure the service attains and retains accreditation. The post holder will support and guide the new manager to keep up to date with UKAS requirements, collect, collate and submit quality and audit data, support progression through the accreditation process and facilitate change within the audiology service, based on UKAS response.

2. Support and mentor Audiology Quality and Compliance Manager to achieve IQUIPS accreditation
3. Support Bedford Audiology to be in the best position to build their programme of audit and compliance in line with national accreditation

Job responsibilities
1. Support the new post - Audiology Quality and compliance Manager to deliver:
2. IQIPS Accreditation
3. To coordinate compliance with IQIP standards within appropriate and/or specified timeframes.
4. To provide expert knowledge of IQIP requirements.
5. To collate required performance and quality information in a timely manner.
6. To collate defined audit reports in collaboration with Head of Audiology.
7. Provide administrative support to Audiology Leads for IQIPS-associated tasks, as well as administrative support related to any other improvement projects.
8. Develop and maintain a system to record, monitor and track project progress and the related activities and actions within the department.
9. Communicate project information to others which may involve providing complex information and persuasion skills.
10. Propose changes to procedures and practices within Audiology as a result of UKAS requirements.
11. Maintain and update required information as per UKAS accreditation.
12. Collate all project documentation including audits, results of patient feedback and training records and produce operational reports as required.
13. Undertake audits to check compliance against UKAS standards on a monthly basis.
14. Collate all UKAS audits in conjunction with clinical and managerial teams either monthly, quarterly or annually as required.
15. Ensure that electronic information is maintained and stored in accordance with Information Governance policy and procedure.
16. Upload all required evidence to the UKAS website.
17. Undertake the investigation of any breaches of standards, and work with the Audiology Leads to seek a resolution or mitigating action.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Experience of building an audit database and completing IQUIPS accreditation
Experience
* Full understanding of steps needed to achieve IQUIPS accreditation
* Good understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 and be fully conversant with patient confidentiality.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of IQIPS standards and requirements
* Clear knowledge of confidentiality issues and obligations
