Edge Careers are working on behalf of one of our valued clients, that's looking to add a 'Trainee Earthworks Modeler' to their Engineering Department. A Groundworks contractor that specialises in Roads, Sewers, infrastructure, bulk earthworks and housing plot Groundworks. This is a full time opportunity working Monday to Friday. Working hours are ‘7am to 4:30pm or 7:30am to 5pm’ Salary would be dependant on existing experience and skills. In this role you will be working closely with the Senior Estimating Modeler & Surveying Manager. They will be responsible for your future development and training. Beneficial Attributes: - CAD experience to help manipulate data - Experience using Earthworks Modelling software LSS or similar software - Understanding of Civil Engineering, Construction and Earthworks - Any site based experience working within the Groundworks Engineering department - Land Surveying experience - Site Engineer / Civils Engineer setting out experience - Inquisitive and technically minded, enabling you to complete your workload to the highest standard and to seek the answers that others may not find - Working to specific deadlines - Good communication skills, confident with speaking to existent clients and prospective new ones to understand and deliver their requirements As a Trainee initially you will be responsible for: - Measuring items for take-off’s - Aiding in design review - Use of AutoCad to manipulate data. - With future development into creating 3D models Once fully trained up and qualified your responsibilities will be: - 3D modelling of existing and proposed sites to generate cut/fill analysis - Interpolating ground investigation data to estimate subsurface materials and volumes - Generation of volume reports - Developing conceptual site models - Producing detailed drawings and cross-sections - Partake in regular team meetings - Working closely with Site Teams and the Estimating Team
