Location: Ipswich & Felixstowe, Suffolk (split 50:50)
Position: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Temp to Perm
Key Responsibilities as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant:
* Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the SEN Coordinator and class teachers.
* Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and monitor pupils' progress.
* Provide one-on-one support to children, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
* Encourage pupils with autism to navigate their educational journey confidently and successfully.
* Support the planned extension of services to Key Stage 2.
* Contribute to the inclusive ethos of schools, creating a welcoming environment for all learners.
* Uphold the values of the schools, ensuring children with autism receive personalised, nurturing care.
Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant Skills & Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an SEN environment.
* Knowledge of autism and effective strategies to support children with this diagnosis.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to solving challenges.
