Description
Due to retirement, R & R Precision Spreading is seeking a Dispatcher to join our team in a full-time, permanent role, based at our office in Methven.
R & R Precision Spreading is a family owned and operated business. We specialise in the application of nutrients for our valued primary producers throughout Mid-Canterbury and beyond. At R & R we pride ourselves on providing our clients with exceptional service; this can only be achieved by a highly skilled team that has a supportive work environment in line with our values.
The Role: In addition to being responsible for the efficient planning of resources by managing the drivers’ workloads and allocating daily jobs, the dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring our clients receive excellent service and clear communication. The successful candidate will also be required to assist with other tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our business. This role is working with two others in the office and a team of 10 drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Daily collating and dispatching of orders in an efficient way.
* Working with suppliers to manage orders.
* Utilise software to create orders and provide application reports.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, transportation laws, and company policies in all dispatching activities.
* Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving concerns and maintaining positive relationships with clients and suppliers.
* An ability to prioritise workload as required based on weather, farm type, supply of product and vehicle availability.
* Effective communication to the team of drivers.
Attributes we are looking for:
* Experience in dispatching or management in the primary and/or transport sector.
* An understanding of farming systems and fertiliser would be advantageous.
* Class 2 licence.
* A can-do attitude, attention to detail and the ability to think under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Strong work ethic and motivated, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
* Demonstrates initiative and problem solving.
* Both sound computer skills and ideally some mechanical aptitude.
* A real team player who aligns with our values.
* Commitment to health and safety.
* Reliable with great time management skills.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and suppliers.
* A sense of humour!
