My client is searching for a Criminal Duty Solicitor to join their Basingstoke, Hampshire offices.
The Role
To provide high-quality legal advice, assistance, and advocacy for clients of the firm and contribute to maintaining high standards of client care.
Experience
1. Criminal Solicitor with 1+ years PQE
2. Police Station Accredited
Key Tasks
1. Taking client instructions and providing legal advice and assistance.
2. Managing a caseload of client matters in accordance with Quality Procedures Manual, SRA Code, LAA Contract, and SQM requirements.
3. Undertaking advocacy at Court.
4. Dealing with existing and new client enquiries.
5. Undertaking legal research and maintaining legal knowledge through training in accordance with professional training requirements.
6. Casework and File Management responsibilities as defined in the Quality Manual.
7. Financial management and compliance with SRA Accounts Rules via Finance Manual.
8. Assisting with networking, marketing, and departmental development.
9. Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
10. Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures.
11. Ensuring compliance with the firm's Equality and Diversity Policy.
12. Obtaining then maintaining compliant Duty Solicitor status.
13. Attending out of hours Police Station call outs and Saturday/Bank Holiday Courts as required.
14. Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm.
