The BBC’s Corporate Systems department supports internal business-facing application solutions across BBC Public Service Broadcasting and BBC Studios. These applications include Finance, Procurement, Treasury, HCM, Learning, Human Resource Scheduling, and internal applications.
Working within the Corporate Systems department, the Lead Architect works as part of a team reporting to the Head of Architecture. The role is primarily focused on the Architecture and Administration of SAP BTP and extends to cover the whole BBC Corporate Systems Hybrid Technology Platform from a product perspective.
The Lead Architect ensures that the vision and strategy for the specialist area are delivered using standardised, reusable, and innovative architectures which direct investment, bringing value and innovation to BBC divisions and the BBC’s external partner network.
The Lead Architect realises the strategic architecture, platforms, and product strategy, ensuring consistency and standardisation of architecture and related best practices within the area of specialism, as it relates to the BBC’s technology principles and strategy.
Main Responsibilities
1. Develop architectural principles, policies, and governance for the Corporate Systems Technology Platform.
2. Deliver and document SAP BTP architecture to support bespoke business applications.
3. Build productive relationships with stakeholders and related teams across the BBC technology function.
4. Identify gaps and potential fragilities in the Corporate Systems technology platform and develop solutions.
5. Coordinate efforts with development teams within your implementation area.
Are you the right candidate
1. Proven track record in the administration and management of SAP BTP Services, delivering reliable and effective solutions.
2. Experienced in designing cutting-edge technology architectures that leverage SAP BTP Services to drive innovation and efficiency.
3. Comprehensive understanding of SAP technology landscapes, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP PO, SAP Portal, SAP GRC, SAP Cloud Connectors, and SAP Web Dispatchers in Cloud (SAP RISE PCE/AWS) environments.
4. Skilled in navigating hybrid environments, seamlessly integrating SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions for optimal performance.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with business stakeholders, bridging the gap between technical execution and strategic goals.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of IT framework standards such as ITIL or TOGAF.
• Relevant SAP BTP training and qualifications.
