Part Time or Full Time, Permanent Position
Required from Easter 2025 or September 2025
The Kimberley School is a rewarding and exciting place to work. Our aim is for every child to achieve or surpass their academic and social potential through providing an outstanding quality of education, underpinned by a strong programme of care, guidance, support and enrichment.
We are looking for someone who can teach Sociology at A-Level in our highly successful Sixth Form. The ability to teach all or some of the Psychology A-Level course would also be desirable. This is a unique opportunity to join our highly successful Sixth Form team, based in our recently built dedicated Sixth Form Centre. The successful candidate will join an outstanding team who consistently deliver excellent outcomes for all students that are significantly above national averages. This post is suitable for experienced candidates or Newly Qualified Teachers.
The advertised post is part time, requiring a 0.6 full time equivalent (fte) contract for Sociology and Psychology. However, we will consider applications from candidates looking for anything above 0.6 fte, if they are willing to teach outside of these specialist areas. We will also consider applications from candidates looking for a full-time post if they are willing and capable of teaching outside of these subject areas. Ideally, we are looking for the successful candidate to start at the beginning of the Spring term, though a September start would be acceptable for the right candidate.
On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.
If you have any questions or would like an informal discussion about the post or a tour of the school, please contact Wendy Bellamy, our Leadership Support Team Leader, via 0115 9387000 or hr@kimberleyschool.co.uk.
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check, and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process and may include online searches.
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
The closing date for applications is 9am on Friday 7th February 2025.
