Overview: SimVentions, consistently recognized as one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and analysis support for our Navy customer. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Modeling and Simulation (M&S), data analysis, and technical reporting with a focus on electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) sensor systems, optics, and image processing. This position offers the opportunity to work with both SimVentions and government personnel in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
Travel: 10% Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Requirements:
1. 5+ years of related experience in systems engineering with emphasis on Modeling and Simulation (M&S).
2. Strong experience in data analysis and technical report writing.
3. System/software test planning, execution, and reporting.
4. Ability to work with complex electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR) sensors, optics, and imaging systems.
5. Proficiency in Excel for organizing, analyzing, and presenting data.
6. Active Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required for eligibility.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to support Navy systems.
2. Conduct data analysis of model outputs and results.
3. Develop technical reports using tools such as Word and PowerPoint.
4. Conduct system/software testing in labs and test sites (Dahlgren & other sites).
5. Provide weekly status updates and technical reports to stakeholders.
6. Organize and analyze data in Excel with tables, plots, and data products.
7. Communicate results effectively during meetings and through written reports.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
1. Familiarity with the Night Vision Integrated Performance Model (NV-IPM) tool.
2. Experience with EO/IR sensor data, image processing, and optics systems.
3. Previous experience supporting Navy systems and systems engineering processes.
4. Experience using tools such as MATLAB and Python for analysis and troubleshooting.
Education:
A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is required.
Compensation:
Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.
The projected annual compensation range for this position is USD $90,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 Yr. and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
