About the role you're considering
Capgemini Engineering is looking for an Experienced System Engineer to take on a central role in electrical harness design in space programmes, with expertise in spacecraft operations and proven experience in similar roles with supplier and customer facing responsibilities and proven to be able to work effectively with co-located and remote teams concurrently accountable for delivery of all work packages.

Your Role
Assume central responsibility for the work package "Spacecraft Harness," including the delivery of related items (documentation, models, hardware) in space programs during phases B/C/D, in collaboration with supports, partners, and subcontractors.
Act as the primary point of contact for all Harness aspects with the customer and suppliers. Define the electrical Harness in collaboration with Electrical Interfaces, ELSYS, Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT), and mechanical engineering, including:
1. Analysis of applicable customer and mission requirements.
2. Cascade of requirements to Harness requirements.
3. Definition of functional and physical electrical wiring (functional channels, cables, wiring lists, etc.).
4. Preparation of electrical diagrams (block diagrams, wiring diagrams).
5. Ensuring consistency with other engineering infrastructure (Software engineering, Electrical Integration, etc.).
6. Generation of exports to the harness supplier(s).
7. Definition of the geometrical harness design in collaboration with mechanical engineering.
8. Performance or coordination of relevant analyses such as voltage drop, cable/connector derating, mass estimation.
Coordination of supporting work packages.
Manage technical suppliers, including:
1. Co-engineering with suppliers.
2. Support for relevant design and Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Test (MAIT) activities at the supplier level as required.
3. Support for the supply management team to ensure On Time, On Quality, On Cost (OTOQOC) deliveries of procured items.
4. Support for quality assurance regarding Harness deliveries.
Support system/satellite-level activities, including:
1. Support for other electrical disciplines for Harness matters.
2. Support for relevant operations and MAIT activities, such as electrical integration at the system level.
Contribute to related internal/external Research and Development (R&D) and initiatives for improvements/standardization.
Your Skills and Experience
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with substantial knowledge in electrical engineering.
• Extensive experience in Harness design.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art Harness tools.
• Proficiency in English and the relevant local (French, German or Spanish) languages at a negotiation level.
• Stability, ability to work precisely under pressure, international mindset, and a team player.
• Project management skills.
• Hands-on experience in electrical Interface engineering at the system level.
Your Security Clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.
There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
