You will play a huge part in the ongoing success of Ascent by providing technical and practical support when dealing with debt recovery and litigation actions on behalf of our clients. Details of the role: Ensuring all relevant processes are followed with matters followed up in a timely manner in line with client service levels and court processes. Compile witness statements or completion of court documentation as required as part of the recovery process. Ensure all work undertaken is in line with internal and client service level agreements. Liaise with external third-party companies, agents or other representing parties as required. Treat all customers fairly, professionally and act within legislation, compliance and codes of practice. Accept and request guidance tuition and training on the methodology of work, utilisation of computer systems and other assistance at work. In addition to the above, the Paralegal may be required to carry out any other reasonable request as required by the Team Leader/Head of Department. Skills/Experience Requirements Paralegal experience Minimum of 5 GCSEs including a minimum C grade in English and Maths Works well in both a team and on their own Has a professional and committed attitude and seeks to aspire to targets set Computer literate in all Microsoft Office programs Has a strong attention to detail Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills Comfortable handling large work load under time constraints Sound knowledge of law and legal System Strong organisational skills Familiar with electronic document management and filing systems High level of discretion with confidential matters Law degree or equivalent Knowledge of CPR Rules Experience of working for financial services businesses in a legal environment. Experience of working in the legal industry and/or in-house with a top financial services organisation.
