Job Description
Our highly successful client is growing, and they now need an experienced HGV Technician to join their dedicated team. Our client offers a great team environment and has also just built a new workshop. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the company's fleet of 50+ HGVs (7.5 and 18 tonne).
Hours: Mon-Fri 8.30-5.30pm + Saturdays available 8.30-12 noon.
HGV Mechanic - Main Duties:
* Vehicle Inspections to DVSA and FTA standards
* Fault finding, repairs & servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers
* MOT preparation to DVSA standards
* Vehicle servicing to vehicle manufacturing standards
* Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant
* Use of diagnostic equipment
* Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
Skills Required for the HGV Technician:
* The successful HGV Technician must be fully skilled with industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance and repair
* 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)
* High level of communication
* Basic knowledge of computers and fleet diagnostics
* Good organizational skills and ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
* Must have the right to work in the UK
* Brake experience (training can be given)
* MOT preparation experience
* Modern mechanical and electrical diagnostics and fault-finding
* Accurate and timely defect reporting
