An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lymphoedema practitioner to work within Powys Teaching Health Board. We are looking for a nurse or therapist with a passion for the delivery of evidence-based care for our patients.
The successful candidate should be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team and have excellent communication skills, as well as the physical skills, effort, and manual dexterity required to carry out all aspects of Lymphoedema management. You must be innovative, forward-thinking, self-driven, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have excellent standards of patient care and documentation.
This service seeks a positive team player with excellent abilities to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
The poster holder will improve clinical outcomes through effective use of resources, education, and training in aspects of Lymphoedema specialist care, and assessment and review of current treatments. You will work closely with the wider MDT, utilising highly specialised clinical knowledge and skills to support the effective management of patients with or at risk of developing chronic Lymphoedema.
The ability to deliver clinics at multiple sites across Powys is essential in this role.
Main duties of the job
* Demonstrate commitment to research-based practice, ensuring the standard of clinical practice within the team is maintained at a high level.
* Support the Lymphoedema service in providing an evidence-based lymphoedema service for the patients of Powys Teaching Health Board. This will include providing assessment and appropriate management strategies including Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, maintenance treatments, education, and support for patients developing lymphoedema. The service offers treatment to all lymphoedema patients regardless of cause.
* Work closely with other members of the Lymphoedema Service under the Team leader to proactively improve patient's knowledge on preventing lymphoedema through group sessions.
* Participate in education courses and patient support groups will be an integral part of this role as well as involvement in research, audit, and evaluation.
