The opportunity:
We seek a support engineer for our development/production manufacturing lines to translate design requirements into user instructions and develop manufacturing architecture. You will support operations staff and grow your manufacturing knowledge through work on industrial validation, manufacturing architecture, and future factory principles.
Working with the Principal Engineer, you will handle multiple projects, focusing on manufacturing problem identification and resolution:
* Support existing manufacturing lines and new product introduction
* Assist in industrial validation via FMEA and process proving activities
* Manage configuration control by implementing design modifications into manufacturing documentation and validation
* Support non-conformance processes
* Ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in production
* Implement safe operating procedures for process changes, liaising with COSHH, SHE, and human factors teams
* Collaborate during product prototype/development to optimise Design for Manufacture (DfM)
* Maintain and update Manufacturing Instructions and BOMs
* Develop and control tooling
What we're looking for from you:
* Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 and HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject
OR
* BEng in relevant Engineering Degree
* Proactive problem-solving skills and commitment to meet delivery milestones
* Ability to interpret design drawings for manufacturing instructions
* Teamwork and effective communication skills, including digital platforms
