Job Summary
We are seeking a Downstream Chemical Engineer with experience in chemicals mainly in olefins, aromatics, and synthetic rubber manufacturing to join our Affiliates Manufacturing Excellence Department (AMED). AMED is a multifunctional business unit and a front office setup to oversee This Company’s Affiliates' operational performance, manage HSSE, and facilitate driving manufacturing excellence across the portfolio. AMED acts as the primary interface between This Company and Affiliates by advising, coordinating, assuring, and prompting services & support and conducting Affiliates manufacturing performance analysis and benchmarking.
Your primary role will be to provide technical expertise in conducting benchmarking and analyzing the performance of Global Manufacturing chemicals assets. You will also be expected to provide support in closing the performance gaps identified in the benchmarking process.
Responsibilities:
1. Administer Solomon benchmarking studies for Global Manufacturing facilities.
2. Collect, verify, and review data quality during benchmarking in Global Manufacturing Affiliates facilities.
3. Assess competitive positions based on Solomon benchmarking results.
4. Document findings and recommendations for presentation to Global Manufacturing management and affiliates.
5. Lead the planning and execution of solutions to address identified performance gaps.
6. Create expense/margin optimization plans for Global Manufacturing Affiliates facilities.
7. Coordinate with affiliates to establish performance targets and track progress using Solomon metrics.
8. Evaluate the future impact of planned capital improvements.
9. Develop regular benchmarking reports with Solomon metrics for all Global Manufacturing affiliates facilities.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 15 years of experience in refinery and/or chemical process units, with at least 5 years specializing in Solomon benchmarking and metric analysis.
3. Essential working knowledge of refinery and chemical industry process plant characteristics.
4. Ability to facilitate technical discussions and influence stakeholders.
5. Proficiency in data analysis and data visualization tools is essential.
