Operational Assets and Marine Controller Full-Time, Permanent Newtownards, County Down - On-site 4 days on, 4 days off shift work. The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an Operational Assets and Marine Controller to join the team. The successful candidate will join the team at JFR responsible for providing Control Room Services to Offshore and Onshore Windfarms across the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and Asia on a 24-hour basis. Our clients rely on accurate identification of alarms (based on criticality) to ensure the safety of personnel and risk to infrastructure is minimised. You will interface daily with major renewable generation clients and major infrastructure stakeholders including National Grid, UK DNOs, SONI, EirGrid and Offshore Transmission Owners (OFTOs). You’ll also assist the Senior Marine Co-Ordinator with the Controls and monitoring of all marine activity with regards to personnel, contractors and CTVs for each individual offshore work scope. Key Accountabilities To ensure the risk to our client’s electrical network infrastructure is minimised by ensuring that the system is monitored to ensure system events are logged and appropriate action is taken dependant on criticality. Engaging with the Control Room Engineer to ensure critical alarms are acted on appropriately. Engaging with Authorised field personnel to ensure speedy response to specific alarms. Issuing alarm reports to clients daily/weekly & monthly. Issuing HV Control update to clients daily to include work completed that day and planned work for the next 24 hours. Conduct Emergency switching to disconnect generators from the grid and change voltage set points when requested by the Network System Operator. Skills, Experience and Qualifications Minimum 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English Language. Core IT skills including Microsoft Office suite. Self-starter and self-motivator with the ability to work autonomously. Good communicator (oral and written) with internal and external customers. Flexible with work patterns and responsibilities.
