What the Job Involves Your primary role is to ensure the smooth operation of the Council's MoT testing station, including conducting MoT tests on vehicles up to class 7. You will assist in planning vehicle maintenance and repair programs, inspect and test plant and vehicles, and diagnose and report faults. Additionally, you will verify job documentation, process payments, ensure compliance with regulations, and conduct risk assessments. You may also need to deputize for the Quality Controller, supervise junior staff, and contribute to continuous service improvement. Skills Qualified Commercial Vehicle Inspector (VOSA accreditation) Nominated Tester for MoT Class 4 to 7 NVQ 3 Heavy Motor Vehicle qualification or equivalent Understanding of Health & Safety at Work Act Ability to maintain manual and computerised work records Experience in vehicle diagnostics and repairs Proficient welding or motor vehicle electrical skills to NVQ 2 standard HGV Category C driving licence (LGV) Forklift driving licence Intermediate standards in commercial vehicle inspection training
