TEACHER OF DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (TMS/UPS) ECT’s Welcome
September 2025
The Governors at St. Paul’s Catholic School have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Teacher of Design and Technology. The person appointed will be an excellent teacher able to teach a number of D&T subjects at KS3, and Product Design/Engineering to GCSE level. They will enthuse pupils with a love of the subject. The ability or aspiration to teach A Level would be desirable.
The Design and Technology department and St Paul’s is a key, thriving and growing area of our school. It boasts a wide range of resources, including state-of-the-art equipment and machinery. We are proud to have a dedicated 3D printing suite, frequently used in student projects from KS3 to KS5, enabling students to bring their innovative ideas to life.
Our experienced and enthusiastic team of teachers is committed to delivering excellence in Design and Technology education. We are thrilled to share that we have recently become an OCR Ambassador Centre, a testament to our ongoing collaboration with exam boards and our excellence in delivering D&T qualifications.
Our department is supported by two superb technicians and housed in two fully equipped D&T blocks with spacious classrooms and storage spaces, providing an ideal environment for both teaching and learning.
At St Paul’s Design and Technology is a core subject for all students from Year 7 to Year 11, reflecting its importance in our unique curriculum model. Students love Design and Technology and see the value of the subject and its impact on their lives. We believe in sharing best practices and have a strong history of working with other schools to promote excellence in Design and Technology education.
We frequently attend Design and Technology forums held by the Design and Technology Association and exam boards, ensuring we have a voice in the positive movement forward of DT and its delivery in schools.
St. Paul's is a growing and successful Catholic school which continues to celebrate and promote Science through our previous college status. Our commitment to excellent teaching and learning can be demonstrated through bespoke and high quality CPD opportunities.
All staff members are committed to the care and success of pupils and working in a setting where values of forgiveness, concern for others and respect are shared as the core values of St. Paul’s regardless of faith.
