Must Have:
1. One to two years of management experience with young people in a residential setting within the past five years.
2. A supportive nature towards the young people and staff.
3. An uncompromising stance on poor practices and the courage to speak out.
4. Organised person, attend all meetings.
5. Experience in supervision and care plans is required.
6. Able to work and manage a team/able to bring the best out of the team.
7. Creative person.
8. Counselling skills / Training skills.
9. Recruitment experience.
10. Secondary education with a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
11. Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
12. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
An established children's/young people social care provider is currently setting up Residential Children's homes and seeking a Registered Children's Manager who has the ability to build and maintain rapport with clients while providing an exceptional level of service. As a Registered Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining supervision and care of children and will be responsible for planning and managing the day-to-day functions within the home. You must have experience in working in a Residential Children's Home setting.
Working as a Children's Home Registered Manager, you must be willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people, ensuring that they have an experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood. Your team must be driven by a shared ambition to ensure that the children and young people have an experience of childhood that they deserve, one filled with fun, laughter, friendship, and discovery.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the Children's Homes consistent with the approach and therapeutic ethos of the home, delivering high quality care and outcomes for children placed in them.
2. Work shifts which include evenings, sleeps, and weekends.
3. Ensure that the home's Statement of Purpose is adhered to throughout all working practice.
4. Achieve “Good” with the aspirational focus to achieve an “Outstanding” Service under Children's Home Regulations and Ofsted Regulatory framework.
5. Manage services, including staff management and supervisions, care and placement planning, safeguarding, communications, report writing, and monitoring overall quality and compliance of service.
6. Ensure full implementation of statutory and organizational policies and procedures and provide feedback on the effectiveness of all policies and procedures.
7. Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements such as provisions set out in the Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, Children's Act 1989, Data Protection and GDPR, Health and Safety at Work Act, and Working Together to Safeguard children 2019.
8. Ensure that staff have the skills, experience, and qualifications required to meet the individual needs of each child and ensure consistency of care.
9. Be an inspirational manager, ensuring outstanding leadership of the whole service which supports both children and the team working for the service.
10. Ensure that all required reports are completed in line with timescales. This includes monthly review of the service through monitoring and audits linking into the service development plan.
11. Ensure that the principles of equality and diversity are embedded in the culture of the home.
12. Ensure that each child has individual care and care planning which is child-focused and personalized to meet their needs. These plans should reflect the long-term plan for the child, working closely with the placing Local Authorities.
13. Oversee and manage the move plan for any child moving to our home and establish positive multi-agency and partnership working.
14. Maintain outstanding partnership relationships with the team around each child, ensuring professional representation of the organization to the highest standards. Ensure regular engagement with all multi-agency professionals and where appropriate partners, families, and other stakeholders.
15. Ensure that referrals are considered in a timely manner and comprehensive impact risk assessments are completed when considering any placement.
16. Maintain good relationships with Commissioning Teams.
