Speech Language Pathologist
Position Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist is a licensed professional responsible and accountable for the planning, implementation, and delivery of speech pathology services to ensure positive patient outcomes. The SLP is involved in assisting the supervisor in compiling reports, data, etc.
The SLP is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of disorders affecting speech, language, voice, swallow, and cognitive-communicative function for inpatient and outpatient populations.
Position Requirements:

2. Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
3. Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
4. Education:
5. Master's Degree required from an accredited university in Speech Language Pathology/Communication Disorders.
6. Required License and/or Certification:
7. Current Maryland Licensure. Licensure requires 20 CEUs per two (2) years.
8. CPR certification.
9. Holds a certificate of clinical competency in the area of Speech Language Pathology or CFY eligible.
10. Experience:
11. One (1) year clinical experience in an acute care setting; will consider exceptional CFY.
12. Mental Demands:
13. Uses knowledge and judgment needed to meet the treatment needs of patients and families.
14. Often works under the pressure of time and accuracy in accomplishing patient care.
15. Demonstrates effective communication skills.
16. Responsibilities for Assets:
17. Works with numerous expensive and complex instruments.
18. Reports maintenance needs promptly and is responsible for annual calibration.
19. Contact with Others:
20. Has almost constant contact with patients and families requiring skill in communication, motivation, and teaching.
21. Works effectively with medical staff, department managers, nursing personnel, and administration.
22. Maintains cooperative working relationships both inter and intra-departmentally.
23. Work Schedule:
24. Expected to work Monday through Friday and weekends as needed.
25. Must be willing to work in an emergency.
Opportunities to work in a variety of settings including hospital, outpatient, and skilled nursing.
Schedule: Monday - Friday with rotating weekends
