Cook / Chef £13,301 a year Stoke on Trent Hours per week: 20 hours (Various day time shifts available) Contract type: Fixed Term to 31st March Our client is looking for a Cook / Chef to join their Catering Team working across their three independent living villages in Stoke-on-Trent. You’ll work as part of a team to prepare, cook, and serve meals and light refreshments. As a team you’ll need to make sure that the service provided is hygienic, efficient, and economical, with a great focus on customer service. They’re looking for people that are flexible to work during the daytime throughout the week and are happy to go the extra mile for their customers. Job requirements Assist the Catering Team Leader in delivering a high-quality, cost-effective meal service. Assist in the preparation and planning of menus with attention to providing a variety of healthy and nutritious meals, light refreshments snacks and drinks. Undertake all tasks in relation to preparation and cooking in a busy environment prioritising tasks as you go. Maintaining the highest standards of food preparations and service of menu and short order food. Consider food preparation and service relating to allergens and dietary requirements of a range of customers. Undertake stock control and processing of food delivery orders making sure that food is appropriately stored. Maintaining daily records for compliance with all food safety standards. Working as part of a team to maintain and high standard of cleanliness and operation of the kitchen, service and dining areas. Adheres to and maintains current food regulations and records all necessary information to ensure compliance with food safety standards. What they’re looking for Someone with catering knowledge and expertise with a Level 2 or equivalent qualification. Experience of working in a similar role, preparing, cooking, and delivering a high-quality service and food standard. A passion for great food and excellent customer service. Experience and knowledge of food hygiene, allergens, health and safety legislation and best practices. Excellent communication skills. A one-team approach. Idea generation and implementation to meet service demands. A flexible approach able to work a variety of days, shifts, and locations to cover service requirements. Access to your own vehicle for business purposes, willing to travel to different catering locations across Stoke-on-Trent (Bradeley, Meir, and Stoke).
