We are looking to recruit a band 5 podiatrist to our Helensburgh team. Working alongside a band 7 Advanced Practice Podiatrist and highly experienced band 6 Podiatrist. The base will be Helensburgh but may require occasional travel between other sites for upskilling and clinical support.
The post is based in a community clinical setting, allowing continued inter-professional links to multiple health professionals.
Our community teams are highly skilled and are able to provide all aspects of podiatry care including MSK, care of the high risk foot, wound management and health promotion. This requires the successful applicant to have the experience and confidence to be able to handle working as a team but also independently, whilst following treatment plans.
An ability to demonstrate clinical experience would be beneficial but new graduates will be considered for this post and will be supported through Flying Start, clinical supervision and regular peer support.
A BSc Honours qualification in Podiatry and HCPC registration is required for application to this post. The applicant will also be qualified in administration of local anaesthetic and confident in carrying out nail surgery. The Podiatrist should be able to demonstrate a sound professional and clinical knowledge, with understanding of clinical governance and its application.
Of great importance, an ability to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to prioritise, plan and organise your clinical workload are also essential requirements, along with a full current driving licence.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
