Position: Brand Ambassador
Key Responsibilities:
Be the subject matter expert on our products and current beverage trends, leveraging knowledge and applications to add value to the Matthew Algie business and its customers. Upskill both employees and customers through training and educational initiatives, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the latest industry developments:
Planning & Organisation:
1. Execute sales and marketing plans in alignment with the Head of Espresso Warehouse and associated sales channel managers.
2. Manage time effectively to complete a minimum of 15 x customer visits per week for product demonstrations.
3. Lead 2 x Masterclasses per month in London or Glasgow for current and prospective customers.
4. Keep an up-to-date journey plan and ensure customer accounts are regularly monitored using league tables and gap analysis.
5. Support organisation and coordination for key trade show calendar.
6. Partner with sales managers to create a robust plan for engaging with customers and improving their beverage knowledge and skillsets.
7. Help customers increase their sales by offering support on all aspects of their beverage offerings.
8. Follow a structured approach to customer engagement, including understanding sales history and current customer records.
9. Ensure key decision-makers are met and relevant objectives are achieved during customer calls.
10. Maintain current records of customer training and engagement.
11. Use first-hand experience and third-party industry insights to prepare and communicate reports on beverage menu trends internally and to customers.
New Customer Acquisition:
1. Work alongside sales managers to develop prospecting lists and attend meetings, pitches, and tastings to convert leads into new customers.
2. Utilise masterclasses to present product advantages, applications, and benefits.
3. Use product samples and marketing materials to effectively engage new prospects.
Digital and Social Content Development:
1. Collaborate with the marketing teams to create engaging content for social media and digital platforms.
2. Develop content such as social media posts, blogs, recipes, and sales tools to promote the brand and engage with the audience.
Qualifications:
1. Practical experience in beverage development and preparation.
2. Field-based experience focused on achieving exceptional customer service, such as in roles like Trainer, Sales, or Ambassador.
3. Proven experience working in a fast-paced, structured, and high-demand environment.
4. Experience in the coffee industry is preferred, though not essential. Experience in the spirits industry is also highly relevant.
5. Experience in a role closely tied to achieving sale targets.
6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage effectively with diverse audiences.
7. Confident and engaging presenter, comfortable leading demonstrations and training sessions.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Proficient in beverage development; barista skills are desirable but not essential.
10. Highly organised with excellent time management abilities.
11. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
12. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet targets.
13. Strong multi-tasking abilities and adaptability.
14. Good numerical and analytical skills for reporting and analysis.
15. Advanced IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
16. Sales skills with an understanding of the selling process and customer engagement.
17. Commercial acumen with strong negotiation and numerical abilities.
