Health & Safety Advisor – Heysham
Reports to: Health & Safety Lead, Specialist Services
Location: Heysham 1 Power Station (occasional travel to other sites)
Role Overview
* Provide health & safety advisory support across Heysham 1 projects.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance HSE performance.
* Ensure compliance with safety policies and drive continuous improvement.
* Full-time role with occasional travel to support other projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise project teams on safety best practices and compliance.
* Support health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) pre-qualification for bids.
* Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
* Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend improvements.
* Lead and contribute to HSE improvement projects.
* Support subcontractor and supplier HSE performance.
* Prepare reports, presentations, and safety data analysis.
Working Relationships
Internal: Collaborate with operations, project managers, engineers, and H&S advisors.
External: Interface with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).
* Construction industry HSE training.
* Minimum 3 years of HSEQ experience (preferably in a construction site environment).
Preferred:
* MSc in H&S / Chartered MIOSH status.
* Nuclear industry experience.
