Communications Network Architect

Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Communications Network Architect to join our Technology team, playing a key role in the design, documentation, and implementation of network and voice services for a variety of service providers. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of cutting-edge network infrastructure solutions as we transition services into cloud environments while focusing on IT/OT convergence, automation, and orchestration.
As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing the design and delivery of network solutions, supporting a wide portfolio of communication services including SD-WAN, MPLS, IP multicast, and public cloud interconnects, while providing critical operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement IT/OT network infrastructure solutions.
Develop architecture to support communication services, including LTE Roaming, Caller ID protection, SS7 mobile signalling, and more.
Manage strategic vendor relationships for solution evaluation, customization, and provide third-level operations support.
Monitor IT industry developments and their potential impact on network architecture.
Develop technical standards and policies for network infrastructure.
Essential Skills & Experience:
In-depth knowledge of SCADA network infrastructure and protocols.
Experience with multiplexer networks (TDM & SDH) and modem configuration.
Strong experience with Avaya, Extreme, and Ruggedcom LAN switches and configuration.
Expertise in designing complex multi-vendor, multi-technology IP networks.
Familiar with network technologies such as MPLS, SD-WAN, and IP multicast.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF routing protocols.
Experience with network design based on high-level customer requirements.
The ability to create detailed network drawings using AutoCAD and Visio.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with AAA, Tacacs+, Radius, CA/PKI, and VoIP technologies.
Proficiency in IPSec design and troubleshooting.
Experience with IP Multicast, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting
