As the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategic plans to drive outperformance. You will lead and manage all aspects of the commercial function, ensuring the team is capable of successfully delivering the businesses strategic objectives.
What you’ll do:
* Take accountability for the collation of data and reporting on the overall commercial position of @one. Report on programme and project level performance ensuring commercial progress is maintained and efficiencies secured.
* Report monthly on the Programme Pool and the efficiencies secured.
* Report business plan initiatives and balance scorecard.
* Functionally lead on Programme Planning.
* Develop and manage a commercial performance structure for @one.
* Ensure programme & project performance is visible and accessible to the teams, individuals and suppliers to drive deliverables and outperformance. Provide a “One Version of The Truth” of performance to the Partners.
* Support the proactive management of the programme with respect to time, cost, and quality.
* Ensure governance & change management is implemented and understood.
* Set up and manage processes to report on all KPI’s and KPM’s.
* Be accountable for cost assurance in @one and with the partner organisations. Establish a framework for cost and performance indicator assurance.
* Support delivery with: resource management and workload levelling, programme visibility, programme and project controls, risk management and earned value.
* Manage the effective & efficient closure of projects and the continuous improvement of close out processes to maximise outputs and commercial gain.
* Provide leading edge thinking and practice for risk management and reporting.
What you’ll bring to the role:
* Educated to degree level
* Experience in senior leadership role
* Significant experience of Project & Programme Construction delivery
* Knowledge of Utility Operations
* Experience in change management
* Management experience in a commercial contracting environment
* Proven ability in delivering business objectives at a strategic level
* Proven commercial acumen and Leadership
* Strong capability in risk and issue management
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
* Excellent communicator at all levels
* Can clearly communicate the strategy and provide direction
* Strong motivational skills
* Proven history of successful self and team development
* Ability to deliver quality outputs within tight deadlines
* Takes personal responsibility for continually improving own knowledge, skills and networks
