Shift Pattern – 12 days on 2 off
£38,000 – £42,000 per annum, DOE

Essential Criteria:
* 3 years experience of managing the health and welfare of a dairy herd
* Capable of working on own initiative in the best interest of the herd
NOTE – You will be working directly for the farm, not through REAL Success.
Our Farm:
We are a Dairy and Arable farm farming 700 acres. We milk 400 Holstein Freisans twice a day through a 40 point GEA rotary parlour yielding 11,000 litres supplied to Muller. Our cows are housed and calved all year round. The farm is supported by a team of 5.
Responsibilities:
As a Herdsperson, you will be supporting the overall running of the dairy operation with roles and responsibilities including:
* Daily management of the herd’s health and well-being, spotting and treating illnesses
* Milking to a high and consistent standard, keeping the parlour clean and tidy
* Liaising with vets, nutritionists, and farm consultants when the farm owner is away
* Working alongside the Farm Owner to assist in dry cow management, calving cows and colostrum protocols.
* Supporting the farm to start incorporating a herd management system
* Foot Trimming and spotting lame cows
Requirements
* A full UK Driving license.
* Proof of UK right to work
* Foot trimming & AI qualification preferred
* Demonstrate at least 3 years of previous experience in supporting dairy herd management
* Will be friendly and supportive
* Be capable of working on your initiative
* Be a reliable, punctual and trustworthy individual
* Willing to embrace new ideas and technology.
