Maintenance Technician
Location: Knowsley
Salary: Circa £39,500kpa Inc Shift Allowance
Shifts: Rotating Shift Pattern, Mon-Fri 6:00am - 14:00pm / 14:00pm - 22:00pm
A local Manufacturing company is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team.
Purpose of Role - Maintenance Technician
1. Undertake the day-to-day electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair of all machinery, plant, equipment & facilities.
2. Liaise with Engineering Manager, Shift Managers, and other shift staff in providing electrical and mechanical maintenance support on shift.
3. Undertake electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair on plant and machinery.
4. Identify and report on materials and parts required to overcome breakdowns and repairs.
5. Breakdown resolution, repairs, and improvements to all machinery and processes.
6. The use of multi-test equipment to identify and rectify faults within control systems.
7. Record detailed and accurate repairs information relating to repair inspections or completed repair jobs.
8. Ensure parts required to repair machines are ordered through the relevant process in a timely fashion.
9. Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard and ensure compliance with the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
10. Observe and comply with all good working practices and embrace the company team ethic of success.
11. Complete an end-of-shift report detailing work undertaken in the shift.
12. Provide shift handover information for oncoming shift and for engineering department.
13. Undertake training, as necessary, to maintain high standards in the quality of work provided.
14. Any other duties as required by line management, commensurate with the post holder's level of training and competence.
Candidate Requirements - Maintenance Technician
The ideal candidate must come from the engineering industry as a Maintenance Technician. You will also have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
1. Ideally hold an electrical qualification such as C&G, HNC, HND, or similar.
2. Ideally hold 17th/18th edition in wiring regulations.
3. Experience gained in a manufacturing environment (Essential).
4. Pneumatics fault finding (Essential).
5. Interpretation of complex electrical drawings (Essential).
Experience in the following modern control systems (Desirable):
1. PLCs fault finding.
2. Drives & Controls.
3. Encoders, sensors & feedback systems.
4. CNC machine controls.
5. Modifications to electrical and electronics circuits.
6. Retrofitting of drives and configuring parameters.
7. Some experience of installation projects.
