About The Role
The Warehouse Team Leader - Inbound is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the inbound team to ensure efficient and accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of goods. The role involves leading a team, maintaining safety and quality standards, and driving productivity to meet operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership and Supervision:
o Manage and lead the inbound team, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
o Provide training and mentorship to team members to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
o Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
2. Inbound Operations Management:
o Oversee the receipt, unloading, and inspection of incoming shipments.
o Ensure goods are accurately checked against purchase orders and delivery documents.
o Coordinate with other departments (e.g., purchasing, inventory) to resolve discrepancies.
o Monitor storage processes to optimize space utilization and inventory accuracy.
3. Process Improvement:
o Identify opportunities to streamline inbound operations for improved efficiency and accuracy.
o Implement best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of equipment and handling procedures.
o Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
5. Reporting and Communication:
o Maintain accurate records of inbound activities, including inventory updates and incident reports.
o Communicate effectively with management and other teams to address operational needs.
About You
Key Skills and Competencies:
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management systems (e.g., WMS).
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and other relevant software.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain is a plus).
* Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
* Forklift certification (preferred).
