An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Farm Manager to join our client on a well-established, family-owned estate in Devon, specialising in premium Angus beef production. This role offers a clear pathway to Farm Manager as the current manager plans to retire within two years.
The ideal candidate will have a strong livestock background, ideally from the beef or dairy sector, and practical grassland management experience. They must be comfortable overseeing day-to-day farm operations while also handling farm planning, budgeting, and grant applications. This is a hands-on role with team leadership responsibilities, requiring someone who can work alongside the team while stepping into a managerial position.
The role includes:
* Daily livestock management, herd health, and welfare.
* Grassland and cropping management.
* Implementing the agreed farming policy, reporting to the Farm Manager.
* Farm planning, budgeting, and grant applications.
* Supervising and supporting the farm team.
* Maintaining and improving Health & Safety standards across the farm.
The offer:
* £40,000-£55,000 salary (DOE) + accommodation.
* Opportunity to progress to Farm Manager within two years.
