As an Mechanical Maintenance Fitter at Siemens Energy your day will involve attending multiple customer substation sites across the country. Your primary responsibilities will include carrying out primary and secondary installation and service activities on HV wound plant and equipment, both onshore and offshore. Additionally, you will contribute and support Service Centre Operational tasks as required. It is essential that you represent Siemens Energy Transmission Service in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.
How You’ll Make an Impact
In this role, you will be accountable for the site installation of High Voltage Wound Plant manufactured by Siemens Energy and other transformer manufacturers. You will also be responsible for carrying out service activities on wound plant and associated equipment, including primary and secondary work. Your expertise will be crucial in leading Working Party activities where necessary, such as being a Permit Holder or Technical Lead. It will be your duty to ensure that all staff within the working party adhere to company and client policies and procedures.
Furthermore, you will contribute to providing a safe working environment by complying with company health, safety, and environment policies, as well as relevant legislation. Monitoring the general performance and workmanship of the site team and subcontractors will also be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure that all work is completed to a satisfactory quality and technical standard, while actively promoting innovation to improve efficiency.
Additionally, you will participate in training and development activities to maintain proficiency in product training, HSE training, authorizations, supervisory training, and plant and equipment operating courses. Supporting apprentice development and maintaining appropriate levels of housekeeping will also be expected. Lastly, you will ensure that all appropriate installation and commissioning records are completed and signed off, and you will liaise with the project manager, reporting any difficulties in carrying out the program of works.
What You Bring
To excel in this role, you should have experience working on electrical substations, construction sites, or other mechanical and electrical industries. Additionally, experience in the installation, service, or manufacture of HV Wound Plant is required. You should also have experience in the erection of primary plant and secondary installations within the T&D industry. An understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices is essential.
