To provide training, instruction, education and specialist technical support and advice to services. The Co-Ordinator will provide coordination, first line advice and organisation for the day-to-day delivery of the training service. The post holder will deliver courses and packages of training in the prevention and management of violence and aggression (PMVA), The training will be provided across the whole trust footprint to internal staff as well as to external customers as part of external income generation.
This post will also offer support, in conjunction with senior instructor and Trust lead with advice to clinical services in providing least restrictive interventions with service users who may be challenging and are in need of enhanced care plans. The advice will be related to PMVA and management techniques for challenging behaviour., 1. To lead on and deliver mandatory training packages including Physical Interventions, breakaway and conflict resolution, incorporating practical teaching and instruction sessions, to Bradford District Care Trust BDCT staff/teams and externally to other public, private and charitable organisations as part of income generation activity.
2. Establish a rapport with and support learners needs, promoting access to learning and achievements. Effectively and appropriately challenge counterproductive delegate behaviours in the classroom.
3. To ensure that training is delivered consistently across staff groups meeting the agreed learning outcomes.
4. Demonstrate skills and instruct learners on methods and techniques.
5. Adapt training sessions, within the agreed framework and learning outcomes, to meet individual/participants' needs with respect to reasonable adjustments,
6. Promote anti-discriminatory practice.
7. Monitor and maintain healthy, safe and secure working environments.
8. To work in partnership with the Trust's network of subject matter experts (SMEs) such as psychology, Moving and Handling etc co-delivering training and working as part of the wider team responsible for mandatory training.
9. To assess the level of fitness, competence and capability of students attending courses, reporting any concerns to the appropriate line manager where necessary.
10. Using experience and knowledge to assist with the development and delivery of training packages and material.
11. To review the effectiveness of training and education activities using appropriate evaluation tools that are in line with the Reducing Restriction Network training standards.
12. To maintain appropriate training records in conjunction with the established Education & Training systems.
13. Prepare and develop materials and facilities to support learning.
14. Share responsibility for appropriate and cost effective use of resources.
15. To assist in the planning and coordination of training for MAV and mandatory training.
16. Assist in the development of other instructors, including supervision and coaching.
17. Actively communicates through a range of styles appropriate to the situation and acknowledges, recognises and encourages the contribution of others.
18. Work both independently and as part of a team, effectively liaising with colleagues whose roles interlink.
19. Take referrals in person and by phone and respond to referrals appropriately being responsible for recording advice and completing risk assessments given relating to the management of violence and aggression within the relevant clinical notes system
20. Support with coaching and training identified clinical staff and teams with support plans for service users (including in patient, home and community interventions and inclusion as appropriate), ensuring that all interventions are based on functional assessment, have good contextual fit within a collaborative approach and are effective in supporting service users in working with behaviour's that may challenge.
21. To work within clinical services on bespoke days to offer advice and role modelling for clinical interventions related to MAV and reducing restrictive practice
