Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with special education needs and disability (SEND), particularly at an Early Help level?
Our dedicated Early Help SEND team, within our ‘Outstanding’ Children’s services, is on the lookout for a passionate Assistant Team Manager who also acts as the Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO).
Wiltshire’s unique approach to the role encompasses the innovation and collaboration we have adopted. We are a strong Local Area Partnership with a vision to promote the right help at the right time for children living in Wiltshire. As DSCO you will be the link between early help, social care and SEND. You will have direct line management responsibility of 3 Early Help SEND advisors within our Integrated Front Door as well as ensuring that statutory responsibilities are met.
Your dedication will be a driving force for positive change, shaping a brighter future for those in need. To apply, you will need to hold a Social Work degree, or equivalent, and valid registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in social care, and a strong understanding of the legislative requirements of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and Children and Families Act (2014) will be essential. To thrive in this role, you will have excellent communication skills, the ability to set priorities for team members, risk management and analytical skills, and a demonstrable commitment to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people.
