Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity as a Purchasing Manager with a brilliant business? We are working with a fast-growing FMCG business that have the highest standards in place when it comes to their workplace, company values, sustainability and wellbeing.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Newry, Northern Ireland.
The role:
* Managing and implementing the company’s procurement strategy to support strategic growth plans
* Main areas of spend will be across packaging, ingredients and utilities
* Negotiating terms with suppliers and manage performance of key suppliers based on value for money, quality, delivery and service levels
* Work with commercial finance to support pricing initiatives
* Monthly reporting to management
* Responsibility for ensuring the business has a supply of ingredients and packaging within the targeted levels set for the business
* Sourcing of new suppliers in line with sustainability strategy
* Management of indirect spending
* Implement a profit improvement strategy
* Develop formal product sector category strategies
* Update quality market intelligence gathering to ensure strong positioning
* Team management
Skills & Experience Required:
* A proven track record in managing procurement teams within the FMCG sector
* MCIPS qualified or equivalent
* Values and purpose driven
* Strong numeracy skills including excellent knowledge of MS Excel
* Ability to lead and help with difficult decisions to support the business in the best way possible
* Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
* A proven track record in building strong supplier relationships with regular performance reviews
