In order to continue delivering our high level service, we are actively seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Business in Newcastle. The team currently provide technical design services and expertise as part of integrated project teams for Northumbrian Water, Scottish Water, United Utilities, Yorkshire Water and wider UK water frameworks. You will be involved in the whole project life cycle from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations. As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will work closely with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community. About You You will be a Mechanical Engineer who is Chartered or Incorporated with IMechE (or working toward Chartership) with experience in mechanical design within the water industry. You will be experienced in producing technical specifications, pump sizing and hydraulic calculations, schedules, DEAR assessments, reports and familiar with collaborative reviews and designs of solutions. You'll also be able to provide engineering input to collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams. To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication skills to give technical presentations to clients and other design engineers as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions including technical workshops, HAZOPs and ALMs. You will understand how water and wastewater treatment processes operate and be experienced in assessing existing site infrastructure to develop and deliver the mechanical design.
