Senior Practitioner - Early Help and Prevention (Children's Services)

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in a relevant discipline relating to children and families.
- Extensive experience working with children, young people, and families experiencing complex and high-risk issues to deliver preventative interventions on a one-to-one and/or group basis.
- Strong understanding of economic and social issues contributing to high-risk situations and poor outcomes for children and families within the East Riding.
- Experience in case management, including whole-family assessments to identify risk and need, and developing multi-agency plans in partnership with families and partner agencies.
- Experience in delivering targeted/group work.
- Ability to engage and motivate children, young people, and families who are difficult to engage.
- Experience in developing trauma-informed practices and successfully implementing them in various settings with positive outcomes.
- Knowledge and understanding of key policy drivers and recent reports addressing the importance of early family help and intervention for children and families with multiple needs, as well as those relevant to child protection.
- Ability to work within a multi-agency team, including reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Experience in working closely with statutory services.
- Demonstrated understanding of safeguarding children's welfare and safety.
- Knowledge of child development and methods for managing challenging behavior and de-escalating conflict.
- Experience in evidencing the impact of work with children and families through evaluation to demonstrate improved outcomes and reduce the need for statutory services.
