SEN Teaching Assistant | Newark (NG24) | £100-£105 per day | Immediate Start | Long-Term to Permanent
We need a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Newark. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN).
Role:
You will provide essential support to students in a nurturing specialist school setting, helping both verbal and non-verbal autistic learners achieve their potential. You will play an integral role in their educational and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored support to students with a range of needs, working both within the classroom and during one-to-one or small group sessions.
- Assist students in understanding and following teachers' instructions, adapting tasks to suit their individual needs.
- Provide targeted support in the learning support department where necessary.
- Monitor and record students' progress, helping to guide their ongoing development.
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience in a teaching assistant or similar role, particularly in working with SEN children.
- Strong understanding of supporting children with Autism, ADD/ADHD, or other learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with and support students effectively.
- A positive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude towards working with children.
Requirements:
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- An enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
- Two professional child-related references covering the past two years.
