Quantity Surveyor - Structural Steelwork

My client is a specialist contractor based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, renowned for delivering top-quality structural steelwork across various sectors, including commercial, defence, education, healthcare, industrial, residential, leisure, infrastructure, data centres, energy, distribution, and retail. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to innovation, they partner with some of the industry's leading clients on high-profile projects. We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join the team and manage the financial aspects of our structural steel projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the commercial management of structural steelwork projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts.
2. Prepare, submit, and negotiate contracts, tenders, and cost plans.
3. Monitor project budgets, forecast costs, and implement cost control measures.
4. Conduct site visits and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
5. Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
6. Prepare financial reports and provide updates to senior management on project performance.
7. Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and industry regulations.
Requirements:
1. Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in structural steelwork or construction is essential.
2. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and budgeting.
3. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
5. Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (e.g., RICS, HNC).
6. Full UK driving license.
