Join a fast-growing accountancy practice in Milton Keynes and work with a diverse range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to multinational organisations. As an Audit & Accounts Manager, you will experience a cross-functional office environment while contributing to the audit, accounts, and advisory work under the guidance of the Senior Audit Managers and Audit Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit:
1. Lead a portfolio of clients with the responsibility to plan and supervise the audit process.
2. Oversee audit assistants and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
3. Direct, coach, and mentor Assistant Managers to deliver high-quality service.
4. Foster relationships with clients and business departments.
5. Negotiate fees and contribute to business planning.
6. Monitor the effectiveness of Audit & Accounts services and provide feedback.
7. Prepare reports for senior management and Audit Director.
Annual Accounts:
1. Handle specific client accounts with efficiency and excellence.
2. Offer pre-year-end tax planning and collaborate with Tax Department.
3. Ensure high-level service and efficient completion within the 30 working-day guarantee.
4. Review accounts with clients, offer advice, and promote services.
5. Supervise junior staff and ensure all services are joined up.
6. Introduce clients to relevant business development managers for new services.
Commercial:
1. Expected chargeability: 75%.
2. Expected portfolio size: 500,000+.
3. Expected reporting staff: 1-2 Audit & Accounts Assistants.
4. Anticipated mix: 50% audit, 50% accounts work.
Technology:
1. Utilise software tools to enhance client experience.
2. Achieve and maintain personal software certificates.
3. Highlight and implement new software to align with business objectives.
4. Any other duties as required by the company.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Possesses leadership skills and acts as a role model.
2. Thrives in a pressured environment with drive and resilience.
3. Has knowledge and experience of auditing, including IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP.
4. Excellent supervisory and project management skills.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. IT literate with experience in Excel/Word.
7. Possesses business development acumen and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Time and Exam Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
2. Recent experience as an Audit & Accounts Manager.
3. Knowledge of current accounting and financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
4. Experience working with SMEs.
5. Possession of a driving license is desirable.
