A Property Maintenance Apprenticeship at the University provides an excellent opportunity to develop the essential skills needed to enhance the condition and quality of our portfolio of properties. This program ensures that buildings are maintained in a safe working condition while delivering a high level of satisfaction to customers. About the Role: You will be excited to start a new career in property maintenance, and have a mature outlook, transferrable skills and a willingness to learn and develop new skills. You will assist the Building Fabric Team with the daily reactive repairs. Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the maintenance and repair of university properties.
2. Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance needs.
3. Support the team in various property maintenance tasks, carpentry basic plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.
4. Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and quality.
About the apprenticeship As an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative, you will undertake an apprenticeship with Abingdon and Witney College, at Bicester Construction Skill Centre where you will complete Level 1 Functional Skills English and Maths and Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship. For this apprenticeship, you will primarily work the Building Fabric Team within the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) at the University of Oxford, as well a working with the Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical Teams. In total, it will take 18-24 months to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and College throughout. The apprenticeship training is eleven weeks of block release training at Bicester Construction Skill Centre.
