An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and committed Wellbeing and Anti-Bullying Officer to join our Education Effectiveness service area, as part of Children and Families Services. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to enable LCC to successfully implement national and local initiatives, focussing on key recommendations to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. The post holder will contribute to this ambition by supporting the development of the current Beyond Bullying Award content for secondary schools, to integrate and embed mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention strategies in a whole school approach. Knowledge and an understanding of the current agendas within education, particularly regarding Wellbeing, Mental Health, Trauma Informed Practice, Anti-Bullying and Equality & Diversity will be an advantage. This roll offers flexible working arrangements and hybrid working (mix of working from home and office). We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and effective Wellbeing and Anti-Bullying Officer who will: Develop and deliver programmes that enable schools to demonstrate a proactive whole school approach to promoting wellbeing, mental health and suicide prevention strategies. Champion and develop awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and anti-bullying processes in schools, central services and other educational settings (e.g., Further Education Colleges). Provide advice and support to schools to prevent and tackle bullying and prejudice. Maintain, develop, and deliver training sessions for key stakeholders. Report regularly to the line manager summarising key themes arising and areas of concern, contributing information to the service strategy. Work in partnership with colleagues and other agencies. Maintain close contact with other Education Effectiveness staff and contribute to general Service activity. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post. About You To apply for this post, you must: The Wellbeing and Anti-Bullying Officer will play an integral role, as part of the Education Effectiveness Team, to successfully implement national and local initiatives, focussing on key recommendations to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. You will promote and embed equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and anti-bullying strategies within educational settings where Leicestershire children are educated; to secure the best start in life for all our children, particularly the most vulnerable. The successful candidate will: • Have experience of working with schools and academies in developing equality, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and mental health and/or trauma informed practice. • Have recent and successful experience of the planning and delivery of training for a range of audiences. • Be able to work independently and with initiative, well-motivated and flexible • Have experience of developing and maintaining initiatives, and quality assuring their effectiveness. • Have some understanding of the issues facing schools and how schools operate. • Have some understanding of the legislative, regulatory and statutory duties in Education relating to EDI and Anti-Bullying. • Have effective communication skills. you must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
