About the Role
Professional Duties:
1. To plan, prepare and teach the National Curriculum in line with statutory requirements and the school's schemes of work, ensuring teaching of the highest standards of learning are achieved for all pupils.
2. To create a stimulating, organised, interactive and informative learning environment that encourages each child to achieve their potential.
3. To ensure that learning is tailored to the needs of all pupils regardless of background and need.
4. To engage in enquiry-based learning as part of the school’s approach to strategic improvement in order to maintain and develop a teaching and learning environment of the highest standard.
5. To work co-operatively as part of a year team, including planning work for support staff.
6. To monitor and assess pupils’ work, using these assessments to inform planning and set targets that promote continuity and progression.
7. To ensure the individual needs of the pupils are met through differentiated work, allowing for the highest standards to be achieved by all.
8. To work in partnership with parents and other members of staff to promote the well-being and educational progress of each pupil.
9. To follow school policies under the direction of the Head teacher and Head of School.
10. To maintain effective order and discipline within the class to secure progress in learning, in line with the school’s Positive Relationships policy.
11. To actively take part in professional development, sharing expertise and experiences as required.
12. To actively extend own professional learning via collaborative study, attendance at INSET, and reading to keep abreast of new developments.
13. To develop extra-curricular activities.
14. Be expected to develop and lead a curriculum area.
15. Work alongside other members of staff to review and innovate the curriculum.
16. To follow guidance and support from members of the leadership team in relation to utilising opportunities for further career development.
17. Engage pupils in an extracurricular activity throughout the school year and participate in residential visits if required.

* The successful candidate will have a commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and be expected to sign the Catholic teacher contract.
* Hold or be committed to completing CCRS.
* Be an excellent, enthusiastic, and creative classroom practitioner with excellent organisational skills and a range of teaching styles.
* Be willing to learn from others and set high standards both in class and around the school.
* Understand that our children and community deserve the best.
* Have the highest expectations of pupils in their personal development, including behaviour.
* Have a good sense of humour and strong interpersonal skills.
* Be able to work effectively as part of a team, in developing the talents of children and adults alike.

* Experienced in leading Mathematics and Science across the school.
* Lead an extracurricular activity and attend residential visits as and when required.
