The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Project Manager to join the Tactical Delivery Vehicles Project Team at JFD. The successful candidate will provide project management support and assistance to the Project Team who are accountable for the delivery of high value, strategically important international defence projects. You will support a global multi-disciplinary project team assisting the delivery projects on time, on budget and to the complete satisfaction of the customer and internal stakeholders. You will lead by example, pragmatically driving adherence to PMO processes and procedures. JFD will support your professional growth, give you the opportunity to explore different sectors within the organisation and encourage you to progress through promotion and challenge. This role may involve infrequent international travel. Key Accountabilities Assist with delivery performance inclusive of financial performance against budget and satisfactory achievement of contractual and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to achieve contractual requirements. Monitor, compile and submit project reports to the customer and internal management capturing the status of the project in line with PMO processes. This will include working and reporting on contractual KPI’s. Ensure health, safety, environment, sustainability and security objectives are achieved throughout the lifecycle of the project along with all legal and regulatory requirements. Develop detailed project plans to guide the customer and internal stakeholders on the projects progress, status and variances from the plan. Assist with the identification, evaluation, mitigation and reporting all risks to ensure that JFD delivers to its contractual requirements. Ensure projects are executed in accordance with JFD’s Global Project Execution Process (GPEP), New Product Design (NPD) and associated procedures to ensure that the governance is maintained throughout the project. Communicate project status and performance through the tiered management system daily, weekly and monthly as required. This will include working and reporting contractual KPI’s. Skills, Experience and Qualifications Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of adapting to various situations and audiences. A track record of project management experience essential. APM Project Fundamentals & Project Management Qualification (or similar) preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment. Be personally energetic, dynamic, positive, and enthusiastic and possess the ability to think laterally and act proactively through reasoned decision making. International delivery experience, preferably within the services, infrastructure, manufacturing or defence environments. Awareness of working to maritime, defence standards and international quality & safety standards would be advantageous. You will need a full clean driving licence along with the right to reside and work in the UK. Ideally you will already hold full security clearance. Ability to obtain SC level clearance essential.
