We are looking for a Team Leader to join our team at our Stoneside services (G43 1JF), providing quality residential care and short breaks services for up to 7 young people aged between 8 – 18 years with children with various learning disabilities. Within our residential service we provide long-term placement for three boys ages 11 to 16. Our Short breaks service offers families a vital service where young people spend fun and quality time within the service out with their family home. We support Children and Young People who can, at times, present with behaviours that can be physically and emotionally challenging, alongside having a range of complex needs. This means that the people we are looking for, must be emotionally resilient enough to remain calm and compassionate at the times when it's needed most. Our Residential Workers support our Children and Young People through the day with activities, hobbies, daily living tasks, medication and elements of personal care. How you'll help to create brighter futures Having responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service in accordance with national standards. Managing and leading a team of residential professionals and other staff as directed in the delivery of a 24 hour rota (including management of shifts) of care. Being responsible for the supervision, learning and development of the team. Focusing on the outcome-lead care of the children and young people staying at the service. Delivering services and leading by example to ensure that staff are supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential. Building and maintaining positive, professional working relationships by providing emotional and social support to children and young people who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties. Working with other agencies and within the community to assist the child / young person and their family. Let's talk about you Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) Good to know Application Process Please note we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
