A building structures engineer is required by a long established privately owned consulting firm, synonymous with engineering excellence. Your Role: Working alongside a structural associate, you will be involved in the design and delivery of building structures, predominantly using steel and RC. You will contribute to the whole design process from inception to completion. Support, guidance and on the job training will ensure your skills build, preparing you to advance. There will be regular contact with clients, occasional site visits – predominantly in Northern Ireland-, and you will help supervise detail design production carried out by junior engineers. Whilst the company is known for it’s involvement on major projects, there will be occasions where you will work on smaller schemes where you may be required to carry out timber and masonry design. Your Profile: A degree qualified engineer with at least six years building structures design experience. Currently working at project engineer or senior engineer level with some responsibility for supervising junior engineers or technicians. Conversant with using industry standard design software such as Tekla, STAAD PRO, Tedds or MasterSeries. A working knowledge of AutoCAD. A track record of designing steel and reinforced concrete structures from concept stages through to detail design and design supervision. Ideally working towards chartership, or chartered through the ICE, IStructE or Engineers Ireland.
