Salary: 40,000 - 70,000 GBP per year Requirements:
* BEng/BSc in Computer Science or another relevant Engineering or Numerate subject (technology, engineering, or science-related discipline) and a CEng or equivalent level of capability or working towards CEng status.
* Considerable experience using at least one high-level programming language.
* Significant experience with a high-level design methodology (e.g., UML).
* Experience in all aspects of the software lifecycle and a good knowledge of software lifecycle models (e.g., Waterfall, Agile).
Responsibilities:
* I will apply my experience to design and develop sub-system solutions, resolve engineering issues, and provide guidance to others for a range of software products as part of a 70-strong software team within the Product & Training Services area.
* I will provide technical expertise across the software team for the ongoing maintenance of software that is part of the naval radars currently in service with the Royal Navy on multiple platforms.
* I will offer technical expertise in the requirements, design, implementation, testing, and verification of the software subsystems on Naval radars.
* I will contribute to the design and development of subsystems, including the replacement of obsolete hardware and software to maintain and enhance the capability of radar products for the Royal Navy.
* I will provide guidance and work collaboratively within a cohesive team of software engineers across multiple projects and products.
