Role Purpose
To undertake assessments against one or more of the Utility business sector schemes, including but not limited to the:
-Gas Industry Registration Scheme (GIRS) and, National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS)
Key Responsibilities:
1. To perform complex on site assessments within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
2. To produce the report of the assessment within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employee’s work as requested.
3. To discuss/ present the outcome of the assessment with the external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
4. To assess/ recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure and within the commercial aspects of the contract and issue quotations where appropriate.
5. To pursue CPD and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
6. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
7. To develop technically other employees, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
8. To contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships.
9. To undertake project management where applicable including monitoring project progress and spend against budget and contract requirements.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
10. Should possess an appropriate qualification in the relevant utility sector to a minimum HNC level.
11. Should be a qualified member to at least Incorporated Engineer Status of a recognised institute ( IET, IGEM)
12. Shall possess sufficient appropriate working experience in a relevant industry to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the specialist requirements, knowledge and application.
13. Ability to interact with all levels of staff within client organisations from Directors to site staff
14. Ability to represent LRQA at relevant national committees and conferences
15. Support Utilities Sector Manager and Business Development Manager in the development of new schemes and enhancement of existing schemes and provision of advice to the service delivery team.
16. Knowledge and experience to be able to undertake both office and site assessments on new connections across a range of voltage and/or pressure tiers
17. Ability to produce concise accurate reports within required timescales
