Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated band 4 Community Nurse Associate to join the Barrow Town District nursing team for a period of 9 months from 1st March 2025 - 12th December 2025 to cover maternity leave. The post is a temporary fixed term position, to cover the maternity leave period. The successful applicant will be committed to working closely with health and social care colleagues to provide high quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in the community setting. The role requires excellent communication skills as you will be undertaking complex nursing assessments and developing and delivering programs of care for patients and carers. The district nurses work a 24hr service and regular weekends, evening shifts and occasional nights will be part of your rota. You will need to work collaboratively with other professionals, voluntary sector and informal carers to promote excellent care to patients in their own homes and community setting. Main duties of the job The post holder will work as a registrant within Community Services, accountable for providing evidence based, holistic nursing care of patients. The service covers a 24 hour period 365 days a year. It is the expectation of this post that the post holder will work weekends, bank holidays, evenings and night shifts as required.
